  3. What are the exact dates of the retreat? February 1-10, 2025

  4. What vaccines do I need to travel? The yellow fever vaccine is the only vaccine required to travel to Ghana. The yellow fever vaccine offers lifetime protection and you need to get it within 10 years of traveling so you can get it now. Before the trip, we will have a Zoom and discuss the process of getting the yellow vaccine and share a link to travel clinics. You may also be able to get it from your primary physician.

  5. Will we have a guide the entire trip? Staff will be available 24/7. They will even be able to even go with you to a lounge in case you need assistance.

  6. What about the accommodations? All hotels are 4 and 5 stars. 2 hotels are beachside.

  7. Are payment plans available? Yes. When you book on the Acctours site, you will have the option to break the payments down monthly. The system will automatically calculate for you. Deposit ($260) is due by June 1, 2024 to confirm your spot. If you would like to break it down into a different payment plan, please email travel@acctours.nyc.

  8. Can I upgrade my flight? Yes. Book normally and the option to upgrade your flight will be available closer to the trip. Email Akosua at travel@acctours.nyc to let her know you are interested in a flight upgrade.

  9. Where will the flight leave from? NY or DC

  10. How should I pack to prepare for shopping during the trip? We will have a Zoom on packing closer to the trip but one tip is to bring a collapsable bag inside your checked luggage so you can have a bag to bring back the items you purchase during your trip.

  11. Do I need to bring my own yoga mat? No. Yoga mats will be provided upon your arrival.

  12. How much money should I bring? That depends on how much shopping you’re planning on doing but the $1 goes a long way in Ghana. The exchange rate is $1 to 6 cedis. The minimum our guide recommends to pay for lunch and dinner (breakfast is included) for 10 days is $400. This does not include shopping, alcohol, or going out as that will vary person to person.

  13. What about malaria? A malaria prophylactic is not required but if you would like to get one, you would take it 7 days before travel.

  14. Do I need the COVID vaccine to travel to Ghana? As of now, you do not. The current requirement is a negative PCR test within 3 days prior to departure then again upon arrival to Ghana in the airport.

  15. How do I get my visa to travel? 2 months prior to departure we will have a Zoom call and walk through the visa application together. We will be provided with an invitation letter and itinerary. You will need to mail off the application and a passport sized picture to the embassy and they’ll mail it back. The fee is $60 for a single entry visa.

  16. I don’t see my question here. Who can I talk to? Please reach out to Akosua at travel@acctours.nyc with any questions.
